You should read this before continuing on this blog.
Showing a part of myself in such a public way isn’t always easy, but I’ve found that the more I do it, the easier it gets. I’m learning to enjoy the opportunity to share my thoughts, knowledge, the places I discover, and some of my most important moments. However, I do it for myself, not because I expect anything from others.
I’m pretty sure that at some point I’ll post something you don’t like. Honestly, I won’t stop you if you unsubscribe and delete my blog from your favorites. You’re free to do so; I allow you to exercise your right to leave.
In general, you’ll find seven thematic threads in my posts, but there’s always the possibility of me doing something new. In psychology, they call it “growth”:
- Ukraine and Israel are important historical nodes right now: Ukraine can’t lose the war, and Israel is the key to the world. What happens to them will define the world in the coming years. I support their right to exist, to live as independent, free nations, occupying their original territories. It must be clear that if their enemies stop the war, there will be peace, but if Ukraine or Israel stop fighting, they will disappear. Blood and faith bind me to them. Venezuela is my homeland, however, its historical tragedy over the last quarter-century forces me to move stealthily in this minefield I call home.
- My work during this century has been Gastronomy: It’s linked to my family roots; it’s not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. It’s not showbiz, it’s a way of interpreting the world. You’ll find recipes on this blog, but not to earn a cheap like; I prefer to publish thoughtful and scientific content from the culinary world. Things that help us better understand this fascinating and complex universe.
- I’m not a philosopher, a psychologist, a teacher, or a guru of anything, but this is my blog, and I publish what I want: I don’t publish to gain followers; that doesn’t keep me up at night. I tend to be respectful, but not politically correct, and that doesn’t stop me from telling people to fuck off if it’s appropriate and necessary. I don’t pretend to be anyone, but if I can use this forum, then go ahead. Of course, when I say something, it’s because I’ve researched, verified, and validated it. I don’t publish for the sake of publishing. I make toilet paper rolls out of haters’ comments.
- I publish what I like and when I can: I’m passionately curious (I quote Einstein), I’m a bard, and I love sharing what I know, but I’m also terribly perfectionist. You can’t imagine how hard it is for me to put together a post for publication, and I always review what I’ve done to make corrections and regularly clean up my feeds. At this point, I should inform you that my official website davidgarrido.com has gone down for the fifth time in the last 20 years, and that’s why I’m always like Sisyphus. So now I’m applying redundancy across multiple platforms to be more successful in surviving the next attack. This is the first time I’m publishing in English, so I’m sure I’ll have plenty of mistakes. Please bear with me.
- I protect my family privacy: I love my close family, I enjoy the privacy of my home, that’s why it’s private, NOT public knowledge. I have Asperger’s, and I have boundaries that, when crossed, only cause me problems: I DO NOT like to post about my family’s activities, events, or private facts; I don’t like to show my life; it’s mine. I respect the privacy of my wife and children, and if I share something one day, then feel privileged, but don’t get too confident; I usually delete it over time. If one day I get paid for the rights to a book, series, or movie, I might consider it, but nothing with forced inclusion.
- Instead, here you’ll find posts that honor my ancestors: I post about my parents and grandparents (all deceased) or siblings (who are now well-known and respected adults in their communities) since they publish their things. What I do is share what people already know and uplift them with it. I feel fortunate and grateful for my entire family.
- God is the most important: I’m not even half of what He expects of me, so I know that His grace and mercy go before me renewed every day of my life. I have other pages and accounts with purely Christian content, but something of it will always be shown here. It’s impossible for me not to recognize His grace and mercy in my path. He is the God of my salvation. It’s necessary for me to decrease so that Christ may increase in me.
I consider this platform an ongoing creation with great potential to grow and evolve, and I also use it to showcase my work and offer services or products. If you’d like to discuss my work or potential collaborations, hear more about my adventure, or just say hello, get in touch today.
